Very useful tips! I think that it is also really useful to make photos of all the furniture and boxes so when you arrive at the new house with all the things, it will be easier to check if everything important is there and to find stuff that you have forgotten where you put them. Communicating with your moving company can be a really big help in the whole moving process. There are certain things like plants and produce that they are not even allowed to move, so don’t be surprised if you open the truck up and they are not there. Making sure you communicate how you want the process to work, and then closely oversee it, will make the whole ordeal move much smoother and efficiently.

I really like your suggestion to find someone to watch your pets or younger children on the day you move; with all of the commotion and having the doors constantly open throughout the house, you wouldn't want to accidentally lose track of them. Last time we had to move to a new home, my parents offered to take our daughters to the zoo while we got everything packed up for the move that night. It just makes things a lot easier to not have to worry about where your children are during an already stressful situation.

Moving can be a little tricky for those that don't have much experience. Using storage units can be really beneficial if you have things that can't be moved in right away. My husband and I will be moving our family to another state in a few weeks so we are working on preparing for the trip. I think that having someone take care of our kids would take a lot of stress off, thanks for the tips!
