You might need some paper, markers, and some tape for posting signs on each bedroom door.

This is a great blog post! Very thorough and covers all the details. I always like to have two different boxes set aside… one that is an open first box for the new home as you described and also a leave behind box with some cleaning supplies at the old home so that you can go back in and do a final sweep up and wipe down before turning in the key.

Great article!

Love the idea about a packing party – you just supply the food/beverages and everyone else supplies the labour!

It is a good idea to use as many boxes as you can that are a uniform size and can be easily stacked.

If you are hiring a van and doing the move your self then uniform sized house removals boxes will make the best use of the van space and thus will mean fewer trips.

I run a small removal company in Bolton and love it when we arrive at a house and everything is packed up well.

It will save you money!
